Workshop
on garment draping
The
art of garment draping is considered to be one of the most significant and
sough-after know-how’s in the fashion world. The students of the 9 months
course got the opportunity to understand and learn the relevant aspects of the
topic. Divided into two teams, the students attended the workshop on September
14 and September 17, respectively. It was conducted by the Fashion Design faculty
Ms Manopriya.
On
the mannequins provided to them, the ladies learnt to measure, cut and align
the garment as per the requirements. Pins were used to fix and set the garment
and custom make samples. A documentary was screened for the students,
explaining the different ways to drape a given garment.
