Say Cheese....

What comes to our minds when we think of cheese? “Tom and Jerry” is the most common answer! The ladies at GSFS got a taste of the traditional cheese making process, in the workshop conducted by Food and Beverage Faculty, Mr Udaya Shankar. From Emental, Brie and Cheddar to Parmesan and Camembert, all major varieties of cheese were described in great detail to us. Listening to the list of their countries of origin was like taking a virtual tour of Europe while sitting in our classroom.

Oh, don’t forget about wine when we talk of cheese. Each type of cheese has a certain brand of wine which should accompany it, to enhance its natural flavour. No wonder, in Continental Europe, cheese and wine is considered a course by itself.

And at the end, all of us had a cheese tasting session where we got to taste Feta, Emental, Cheddar, Gouda and Mascarpone. To cleanse our palates, we had delicious grapes and crackers, which helped us enjoy the flavours bursting in our mouths.
