Educating a girl is like a sowing a seed - gives rise to a green and healthy plant

“I ask you all so earnestly to open girls’ schools in every village and try to uplift them. If the conditions of women are raised, then their children will, by their noble actions, glorify the name of the country."
 —Swami Vivekananda

Education of the girl child is important not only for her bright future but also for the progress of the whole world. Education helps in every aspect of life. Today’s girl child will be tomorrow’s mother. Women play a very important role in our society. Educating a girl is like a sowing a seed which gives rise to a green and healthy plant.

In India, women had to suffer a lot: child marriage, dowry, pardah system. She was not allowed to live her life according to her wishes. In some places theses unwanted customs are still in practice. Even elimination of female fetuses is common.

Many families feel that the education of the girl child is a wastage of money and time. Instead, they force a girl to go for work or forcefully get her married her. And for that they are ready to give a huge dowry. But they don’t realise that if she gets proper education she can also earn money and helps the family in many ways. And she can also walk parallel to men.

The government is doing its part for the education of the girl child. They’ve launched many advertisements for encouraging the girl child to have access to schools and colleges. Many reservations are made for the progress of the women.

True that a girl’s education stimulates educational consciousness and civic sense among the family members. She can teach the family members more comfortably than anyone else could. A woman influences the activities and decisions of a family than anyone else. The educated girl can shoulder any kind of responsibility. So, it’s a humble request to all, please educate the girls in your family and see the change in your society.
